 This PR might be better titled "the intel driver is a mess."
 
 Anyway, I don't think changing the default to XAA is much of an  
 improvement. Ask around and you'll find that XAA works better for some  
 people, and EXA works better for others.  While changing the default  
 would help the case you document here, I don't think it would be an  
 improvement overall.
