The machine has no PATA or SATA disks but one SCSI disk.
That means, hd0a refers to a SCSI disk.
Choosing any boot menu results into the input/error shown below.
But typing the same boot command on the prompt works.

3. Disable ACPI
4. Disable ACPI and SMP
5. Drop to boot prompt
