NOTE: This report obsoletes and replaces bug 41165!

The backlight on the NEC MobilePro 750C is uncontrollable from within NetBSD; 
suspending the machine, or even closing the lid will not turn the backlight 
off. This is highly undesireable for obvious reasons.

Install, close lid and/or try to suspend. Nothing happens.
