Can you run your backup software on NetBSD 5 with

    ktrace -i <mybackupsoftware>
    kdump ktrace.out >kdump.out

and then file a new PR saying COMPAT_LINUX is broken
in NetBSD 5 and paste the kdump.out file into the description,
please ?
Then we know which syscall needs to be fixed.
