Unfortunately, the code in this PR is so old that I don't think it will
apply to -current without major changes.  Additionally, this feature is
tied to pcmcia and I'd assume we'd want something more generic.  Lastly,
and IIRC, we already have some form of support for this.

I think this should be closed and I will do so in a week.  If not, please
speak up.  Thanks.
