System: NetBSD night-owl.duskware.de 8.99.25 NetBSD 8.99.25 (NIGHT-OWL) #622: Tue Sep 11 09:37:35 CEST 2018 martin%night-owl.duskware.de@localhost:/usr/src/sys/arch/amd64/compile/NIGHT-OWL amd64
Architecture: x86_64
Machine: amd64
>Description:
While working on some sysinst changes I ran into this failure when trying
to set up binary pkgs. I am aware that there are no pkgs for amd64/8.99.25
available - but I find this mode of failure ... a bit cryptic.
Can we change pkg_add to just say that the directory is missing or
something more clear?
Screen looks like this:
Status: Command failed
Command: pkg_add http://cdn.NetBSD.org/pub/pkgsrc/packages/NetBSD/amd64/8.99
.25/All/pkgin
Hit enter to continue
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
pkg_add: Can't process http://cdn.NetBSD.org:80/pub/pkgsrc/packages/NetBSD/amd64
/8.99.25/All/pkgin*: Transient resolver failure
pkg_add: no pkg found for 'http://cdn.NetBSD.org/pub/pkgsrc/packages/NetBSD/amd6
4/8.99.25/All/pkgin', sorry.
pkg_add: 1 package addition failed
>How-To-Repeat:
Run sysinst from -current and try to set up binary pkgs.
