Ya, when I messed with adding legacy support one of the reasons was that
it is hard to get automatic mounts working early in the boot up towards
multiuser when you wanted a /usr ZFS filesystem.  I assume you also set
"zfs=YES" too.  The same is likely true for /var if you wanted that to
be a ZFS fs.
