There's memory and KVA to be reclaimed there.
I suspect this likely has the same root cause as the following, which all
exhibit the same symptoms (although the 9.0_RC1 has the added complication
of severe lock pressure in 9.0 and earlier, which is solved in -current):
PR kern/54818: 9.0_RC1 pagedaemon spins
PR misc/54886: i386 testbed hangs running ATF tests
PR kern/54908: kernel semi-lock-up
PR port-amd64/54988: system freezes shortly after physical memory is exhausted.
