 Maybe something similar as PR/54995 on Atom N455?

 How about adding
 > option "AccelMethod" "uxa"
 in /etc/X11/xorg.conf ?
 
 If SNA accelaration is problematic on old Intel chips,
 maybe we should fallback to UXA on such pre-2010 chipset?
