 No, not that, that would be a (perhaps subtle) change of meaning.
 
 What is there is a somewhat colloquial version of "First, here is an
 example of controlling..." -- it is not an instruction to the reader
 which your version would make it, just an explanation of what follows.
 
 The wording might be improved by removing the use of "a look" that
 way though.
