 FWIW, "ifconfig rge0 down up" made it come back, so this seems like
 a bug in the descriptor ring handling, as that will all be reset by
 the down/up sequence.
 
 i had a look at the latest openbsd changes and i didn't spot anything
 that seemed relevant for this problem.
