I can't get cmpxchg to work at all. I've tried every variation i can 
think of and it always fails. Here's my latest attempt:
	movl	$0, _stuff
	movl	$0, %eax
	movl	$1, %ebx
	cmpxchg	_stuff, %ebx
	jne failed
	etc.

always fails. Anyone got this one to work? It should succeed.
