Hi there,

Trying to install NetBSD was a disaster .....
I tried a few things : Fist installing on a partition on my second drive ....
                       Then installing on another partition on my second drive
                       At last on my whole second drive ......

The result : both my drives were "killed in action" (Parttion table distroyed).
I managed to save one of them : my DOS - partition (thank got!), but I lost 
my second DOS and both my LINUX partition (that's OK, you say).

Here is what I did :

 * Make a partition under DOS with fdisk ....
 * Change the type format to 0xA5 (386BSD) with fdisk of Linux ....
 * run the install-disks following the INSTALLGUIDE ....
 ( and some variations like using fdisk of Linux to make the partition and 
change the type to 0xA5).

He is what I told the install-programm:

 I've got a seagate (ST 3144 AT) harddisk 1001 cyl, 15 heads, 17 sectors of 
512 byte.

 It's an IDE - interface ...
 I want to install on wd1 ...

"what kind of disk is it [mywd] : " mywd   (??? what's this ???)
"root partition          (cyl)  : " 129 (= 16 M)
"swap partition          (cyl)  : "  64 (=  8 M)
"/usr partition          (cyl)  : " 808 (=100 M)

"proceed (yes/no)               : " yes

labeling disk wd1 .... wd1:cannot find label (no disk label)
overwrite disk with DOS partition table (y/n) [n] ?

* If I answer YES than BSD can mount the drive and labels it, BUT I 
overwrite my partitontable and makes a partition of 25 M, and destroys the 
rest!!
* If I answer NO than BSD cannot mount the drive and the floppy gets full...

Fdisk (both of Linux and DOS) tell me that my logical and physical 
allocation don't match (after BSD "dstroyed" it) ...


WHAT DO I DO WRONG??????


Another thing is that I need a boot selector.... Do you know a good one?
