Thanks to John Maier whose post steered me toward a solution to my TIP/CU
problems. Once I programmed the modem to Enable CD, tip responded as normal.
This must have changed from 0.9a to 1.0. Now on to my problems at hand.
I have 16550 Serial ports on an Enhanced IDE Controller. When I run tip or
uucico, eventually the system will crash. Tip seems to crash the system upon
~. exit. Uucico will run for awhile (with errors) then hang the system. This
card works in my other NetBSD 0.9a system just fine. I swapped boards between
them and the hanging problem under NetBSD 1.0 went away (16450's no FIFO's.)
Does anyone know of a bug in com.c w/ 16550 that will cause this?
Next problem. My UUCP is not happy. Seems like it will download the first
couple of small E-mails then goes crazy with Bad packets. Things seem to be
sucessfully downloading though (16450 Serial ports.) However, sometimes the
other side seems to get up set and Errors out and hangs up. I don't see any of
this under NetBSD 0.9a. A bad header or packet now and then but infrequently.
Has anyone else had problems with UUCP under NetBSD 1.0?
Thanks for all the help!
