(I'm not currently on the system; I haven't got news and mail working
yet 8^( or I'd send actual netstat -nr output...)
The NetBSD box is a primary nameserver, and resolves addresses perfectly
for the system SL/IP'd in, but that system can't see beyond the SL/IP
interface (or so it seems).
For example, from the SL/IP'd system (I'll say remote host) I can ping
204.191.16.2 (my NetBSD Box), 204.191.16.9 (the NetBSD end of the SL/IP),
but that's about it. I can't ping the router at 204.191.16.1 or the bridge
at 204.191.16.253. The netmasks are all set for 255.255.255.0...

Yup... I'm trying to get dial-up Internet access through this NetBSD box
which is connected.
I have been having other fun though...
The binaries on ftp.netbsd.org for the i386 just core-dump on me. They
won't run at all... Argh. And compatible source code isn't available on
ftp.netbsd.org for all of them.
I compiled archie and got it working after a bit of tinkering. I also
snooped around and found source for a few other utilities. I compiled
Less-177 with a little modification, and sz & rz with no trouble at all.
I'm currently working on the Pine3.91 distribution... That's turning out
to be some hassle. Anyone done this yet? PICO compiles fine and appears
to work fine as well. The other two pieces don't. (I can't remember the
name of the first piece; c-something). c-something 8^) fails because the
crypt function isn't found. I've tinkered some, but I'm going to see if
the crypt that it wants is the same crypt that's in the security
distribution. Perhaps I can add it to the makefile manually... PINE seems
to fail due to some other missing functions, I believe for string
comparison... This is next to tinker with...
I got the berkeley popper distribution for pop3, and it's makefiles seem
to be incompatible with the default NetBSD make...
Basically I want this NetBSD box to be able to accept mail and offer it
to hosts via pop3, and be a news server as well. Will I need anything
other than c-news, a pop3 server, and the Pine distribution?
Thanks for any insight...
