Hello.
I recently [upgraded? tonight, Net's making me start to really wonder.] to
NetBSD, having previously used Linux as my primary operating system since
March of last year.
After some work, I got ppp working (Much thanks to whomever wrote the
networking section of the *BSD FAQ. Without it, I'd probably still be
using Linux.), and have been very happy with Net, so far.
Lately, however, I've been having problems with it locking up at
not-so-random times during use. It mostly happens once I type `pppd' to
dial up my PPP link. The only other time it's happened is when I was
using vi and tried to switch consoles (I use pcvt. Is it just me, or is
the version included with 1.2 *severly* old, and could use some work?
Maybe I'm just being bitchy. If someone could point me to a more recent
version, I'd be very grateful.) It is about 8:30 PM CST right now, and my
machine has had to be resetted more than five times since 6:30.
I'm a bit perturbed, to say the least. To top it off, I can't seem to
keep a steady link up, and it's working fine in Linux. *blah*
This is the first time I've had to use Linux since Sunday, I'm sad to
say.
Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated.
Also -- has anyone gotten ppp-2.2.0f to compile under Net?
I'm getting a *ton* of undefined reference errors. I'd post them, but I'm
not in Net (unfortunately.)
Once again, thanks.
Scott
