Hi Perry,
Thanks for taking a look at this.
You've asked:
> 1) What type of machine are you are getting the pages from? Hardware,
> architecture, OS Version?
I'm connecting to the NetBSD box from two different machines (both have the
same problem with retrieving HTML from the NetBSD box):
1st box: DEC AlphaStation 255/233; Digital UNIX V4.0A (Rev. 464)
w/Netscape
2nd box: Gateway PC 133MHz Pentium; Windows 95. w/Internet Explorer
> 2) Hardware, architecture, OS version for the NetBSD box?
NetBSD box: 120MHz Pentium; NetBSD 1.2
pppd-2.2; mgetty-1.1.2; Apache 1.2b7

Here's the dump:

The last line is where I tell the browser to stop trying to load the page
(I've waited longer, but no page appears).
BTW, I'm still learning how to interpret tcpdump (maybe the answer is right
in front of my face?!)
The Apache server apparently thinks it successfully serviced the request --
here's the line from the access_log:
mrtrh_nb - - [31/Mar/1997:19:49:01 -0500] "GET /mr/mrhome.htm HTTP/1.0" 200
3598
And here's the state of some other stuff:
My pppd dial-in options:
