In your case, there are two probable causes:

	1. You do not have the dynamic loader installed, or not in the
	   right place (i.e. /emul/linux/lib/ld-linux.so.1)
	2. Your Linux ELF executables are of the type that have one
	   shared section for data and text. Plain 1.2 chokes on this,
	   but it's fixed in 1.2.1 (and -current of course)
