I'm installing a new NetBSD-1.2.1 system at work and have a DEC
Fast Etherworks PCI 10/100 network card. I have the file systems
installed and need to populate them. I've tried various incantations
of:
ifconfig de0 nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn netmask 0xffffff00 link0
ifconfig de0 nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn netmask 0xffffff00 -link0 link1
etc...
but so far cannot ping any other host. We have a 10M ethernet hub,
so my guess is I need to turn off the 100M feature and use 10M.
The probe sequence reports this:
de0 at pci0 dev 11 function 0: DC21140 [10-100Mb/s] pass 2.0
de0: Ethernet address 00:00:f8:...
de0: enabling 100baseTX UTP port
de0: interupting at irq 9
Thanks, as always!
