I might be able to solve this myself if I can understand a few things.
I'm having trouble getting netatalk to work, and at the same time have
messed up ppp.
I have an internal network with 3 macs. I've given them the addresses
192.168.123.2-4
I am running 1.2G on a Sun IPX with an ethernet address of 192.168.123.1
and a dialup ppp account with a static address of 204.181.3.214
in /etc/rc or probably in netstart, the ethernet port le0 gets configured as
inet 192.168.123.1
does netatalk use the same port?
rc.atalk tries, but I get
starting appletalk daemons:bind: Can't assign requested address
.
.
afpd[215}: main: atp_open: Can't assign requested address.
If I don't ifconfig le0 as inet 192.168.123.1, I don't get the atalk
errors, but
I don't see the netbsd box in the chooser of the Mac's.
At the same time, pppd has started failing with an error I didn't write down.
Is there a logical way to approach all of this?
