Hi,

well, I tried " xsetroot -fg red -bg yellow -cursor_name X_cursor "
as suggested earlier, but still no luck.  The grey square turns into
a red square when not focused on a window, but that doesn't help  ;)

I have tried changing the cursor before using xsetroot but to no avail.

It's driving me nuts!
