uhm... dunno about T1 (1.5 Mbit/s).... with decent hardware even this
should be no problem.

Using async serial ports with a 16byte FIFO and NetBSD-1.0, later 1.1,
I used a 386DX33 machine (or was it SX?) with 5 MB of RAM, and 40 MB
of disk (10 MB swap, 30 MB file system) with base and etc installed,
to route a 16800 bps and a 19200 bps serial leased line to one another
or 10base2 Ethernet.

Of course, logging in for maintainance was ... not very hasty, and the box
didnt do any mail routing, DNS, news, WWW...
