I'm not trying to rant here, but there is something I haven't been
able to figure out that I'd like to see if anybody has an explanation
for, or if I'm simply missing something (I hope the latter... =) It
seems to me that cross-compiling from one NetBSD architecture to another
should be pretty trivial. What am I missing here? I mean if I can
build a compiler for say NetBSD/mac68k on a NetBSD/mac68k box, why
couldn't I build a compiler for NetBSD/mac68k on a NetBSD/i386 box,
given that it's being built from the same sources? Is it just that
NetBSD's compiler isn't set up to be run from a different directory /
use different includes / libs, or is it more complicated than that (or
is there not a problem at all)? I would really like to be able to
compile several slower NetBSD arch's from a faster i386 I have (ideally
full shared libs, but again if one NetBSD platform can build them why
couldn't they all?)
