No solution, but I was able to mount and read/write to a Seagate Barrucuda
and a Medalist on a 2940UW without difficulty. I was also able to mount the
disk during installation and install 1.4.2 on the Medalist using the upgrade
from 1.4.1, using the binaries stored on the Barracuda.
