David,
I have upgraded the system kernel to 1.4.2 and tried the restore which
failed perviously. It did not produce an error this time.
At this point, we could just shrug our shoulders and carry-on with
business (i.e. not pursue it any further). Since I work with MS products
a lot, this is now a reflex response to mysterious problems. It this
worth pursuing?
