Hello!
I have a couple of package suggestions:
1. The NetBSD documentation webpages are a nice resource for the
common questions I usually have and a nice reference in addition
to the man pages. I know I can mirror them via wget (and probably
convert links) but it would be nice to have them as a (meta)package.
My machines are basically never connected to the net, so I'm stuck
carrying CDs.
2. This a bit trickier: rescue disk(s) with dump, tar, statically linked vi.
Making this into a package would be a bit difficult, but it would be nice
to have. Most of the machines I have can't even use a floppy (hp300,vax,
sparc) but my wintel machines would benefit from this. Okay, I'd be
happy with some general instructions on how to build a bootable rescue
disk :-)
And finally a question: what kind of transfer rates should I expect from
an Adaptec 1542CF (ISA) with a Pentium 100 and ,say , ST31230N ? I'm
getting approx. 1700KB/s with bonnie on block transfers, systat vmstat
normally shows a maximum of 800KB/s. I've never gotten speeds above 2MB/s.
I'd just like to know whether this is expected or if I have some glitches...
TIA,
