This card is problematic. Most now work with the NetBSD driver, but a
couple of us have (had :-) cards that still do not. It seems based on
changes that were necessary to get some others' cards working that
3com have shipped about three variants of this card. :-(

In my case it worked under NT. I gave up on it and swapped it into a
machine that only ran NT and got an Intel card in return.
If you wanted you could try to work out from the Linux driver source
what it does differently. It's likely easier to get another card
though ...
