Okay, have read, and tried, instructions from
packages.html#using_pkgsrc. A question remains.
How do I know when it worked? Does it say "All done." or the equivalent?
Because I do believe mine is not going well.
And if it does hang up. Must I clean it up? Or may I just do over? I
tired just donig over, but it stops very short, the second (and third)
times.
I am trying to do an install of KDE2 over a 56K modem. Tried it first
late at night. First time one of the FTP runs stalled. Second time it
looked like maybe it was okay, except that it did not definitely say
that it was okay. So I'm not sure, except that doing "make" after
resulted in "Stop" and "Error code 1" or some such.
Does it keep a log? Can I make it keep a log with, like ">&" or ">>".
I tried doing that with "pkg_add" and that hung it up immediately.
