That would be rather detrimental to real life, since it would bring
Fast Ethernet down to serial modem or ISDN dialup performance,
completely unsuitable for anything beyond basic telnet or ssh on a LAN.
It's more like 10MByte/s (1MByte/s for 10BaseT), isn't it.
