Subject: smpt error -- Can't send long apology

Hmmm...
Just some tips....
1. Describe your setup...
your box....
We think its a laptop...
Thinkpad ?
Cardbus ethernet ?

your infrastructure...
Kmail as pop client straight away to a local smtp server ...
or something else
(dial -up, dhcp, whatever)

2. You obviously have thought about this a bit and so have
done some investigaation.
telnet to smtp server.. what happened ?
file transfers work ok ?
If you are running an smtp server locally (on your box) is
it behaving reasonably ?

Part of the joy and frustration of things such as NetBSD is
that it keeps you
honest about things you actually understand and things that
you think you
understand ...

(Like my silly pppd adventures of a couple of months ago
:-) )
