I can't CVS anything without a working internet connection.  And since I =
can't get my NIC card to work without the update, it's a terrible cycle. =
 I guess I will just have to work on getting -current to compile.

Upgrade to 1.5.3 (cvs update -dP -rnetbsd-1-5) as it has this fix.
From /usr/src/CHANGES-1.5.3:

	sys/dev/pci/if_ex_pci.c                         1.18

	  Improve intr_ack code to support 3c556 and 3c556B.
