you need to set variable for each rc script to YES into your rc.conf to
start service properly.  how does your /etc/rc.conf look like?  do you
have nmbd=3DYES and smbd=3DYES there?   you can test whether some [script]
has such required variable set properly by invoking:

 /etc/rc.d/[script] rcvar
