THere should be an "xf86cfg" program that came out in the 4.x release of =
xfree86 (I think). Otherwise, there should be a --version or something =
you can run. Sorry, I'm without a free unix pc at the moment. Anyway, =
the problems I see with your XF86Config file are mainly:
your device sections and your screen sections. You should try running a =
4.x version of xfree86 and use the "ati" driver. also, I would =
recomment you clean up that XF86Config file and/or rewrite it by hand. =
You'll get a much better understanding of what's going on. =20
You might want to try just commenting out the Display sections that =
aren't what you want. e.g. only leave in something like=20
Subsection "Display"
Depth "16"
Modes "1024x768"
ViewPort 0 0
or whatever you like. Good luck.

Hi,
thanks, how do I find out which version (4.x??) I am running?
Here is the output I get from X -probeonly:
--------------- X probeonly begin

(--) SVGA: Builtin Mode: 320x200
(--) SVGA: Virtual resolution set to 320x204
(--) SVGA: SpeedUp code selection modified because virtualX !=3D 1024
--------------- X probeonly end
and here is a relevant portion of my XF86Config file:
