I'm tempted to throw away gnome but I digress.

I rebuilt everything related to gnome yesterday, from a fresh pkgsrc and
the same problems. No galeon, no gnome.

I fooled around with ddd and ktrace for a while and commenting out
--enable-hard-syscall from devel/pth/Makefile seemed to do the trick.
Now I've got gnome and friends working just fine. Interestingly "make test"
in devel/pth/work/pth* completes without errors with or without
--enable-hard-syscall.

This is on Alphastation 500/500 (21164) and 1.6RC1.
