hi,

i installed crusty-old 1.5.2 on my laptop yesterday. sis driver correctly
detects the installed card.

but after configuring the interface, kernel reports

sis0: device timeout

then if I ifconfig down / ifconfig up the interface, a ping to the
card's address SOMETIMES works, but NEVER to another host.

strange too: it reports an ethernet address 00:00:00:00....

someone out there who had similar problems and knows how to fix this, or
perhaps someone knowing whether this driver is better in 1.6 ?!?
