I think this should be on port-macppc, but anyway:

Old mac-systems (pre Mac OS X) used some (strange) partitions for=20
(disk) drivers. The new OS X doesn't need them, and all Mac OS X Desk=20
Setup Utilities have had the feature to allow _not_ to install these=20
'drivers'. Such a disc is -- obviously -- not mountable by pre Mac OS X=20=

systems (such as Mac OS 9).
