Hi All.
Thanks to sub on EFNET #netbsd I am once again able to browse www.netbsd.org
normally like any other website. I had not been able to do so for many months.
The problem was my mtu size was too small. Setting mtu to 1500 in
/etc/ifconfig.fxp0 fixed it. I might have guessed this from the syslog
entries:
fxp0: discarding oversize frame (len=1486)
fxp0: discarding oversize frame (len=1486)
Thanks to everyone who offered help.
