   Hello, I'm using Intel auich on NetBSD and it works pretty right,
the only thing I had to add into kernel config file was:

	# Audio Devices
	auich*  at pci? dev ? function ?        # Intel ICH integrated AC'97
	audio*  at audiobus?

   If you have well configured PCI (bus and bridges), it must works 
fine!
