rainier:/usr/pkgsrc/wip/e2fsprogs$ TZ=UTC logger test2
rainier:/usr/pkgsrc/wip/e2fsprogs$ logger test3
rainier:/usr/pkgsrc/wip/e2fsprogs$ tail -3 /var/log/messages
Mar 4 11:28:46 rainier reed: test1
Mar 4 19:29:29 rainier reed: test2
Mar 4 11:29:34 rainier reed: test3
I don't see this is documented in syslog(3) nor syslogd(8). It should be.
