Hi,

mounting a CD-Rom results in the following error message:
| root# mount -t cd9660 -o ro /dev/cd0a /mnt
| mount_cd9660: /dev/cd0a on /mnt: Input/output error

/var/log/messages contains this message:
| root# tail -1 /var/log/messages
| Mar 11 14:52:35 gate /netbsd: cd0(siop0:0:5:0): medium error, data =3D 00=
 00 00 00 57 00 00 00 00 00

Writing a CD-R fails, too.
Cdrecord says:
| root# cdrecord -scanbus
| Cdrecord 2.00.3 (i386-unknown-netbsd1.6.1) Copyright (C) 1995-2002 J=F6rg=
 Schilling
| cdrecord: No such file or directory. Cannot open SCSI driver.
| cdrecord: For possible targets try 'cdrecord -scanbus'. Make sure you are=
 root.
| cdrecord: For possible transport specifiers try 'cdrecord dev=3Dhelp'.

Hardware in question is:
| root# scsictl cd0 identify
| /dev/rcd0d: scsibus0 target 5 lun 0 <YAMAHA, CRW4416S, 1.0j>
|
| root# dmesg | grep scsi
| siop0 at pci0 dev 8 function 0: Symbios Logic 53c810a (fast scsi)
| scsibus0 at siop0: 8 targets, 8 luns per target scsibus0: waiting 2 secon=
ds for devices to settle...
| cd0 at scsibus0 target 5 lun 0: <YAMAHA, CRW4416S, 1.0j> SCSI2 5/cdrom re=
movable

System:
| root# uname -mprs=20
| NetBSD 1.6.1 i386 i386

What does this exactly mean? Broken hardware?
