I always thought of Sendmail as being the default, but we do ship both,
so I guess it could be argued either way. :)

I might implement this, if needed. I'm still hoping to figure out how to
do the authentication dance with Verizon. I'm thinking that if I can force
the correct envelope header to be used all the time, and authenticated,
then the contents of my regular headers shouldn't matter.

I'd even be willing to write a piece of go-between software to run the
correct conversation by hand, if I can work out just what it is. I suppose
I should have my friend run a session and watch the packets.

I've got inbound stuff working fine. It's just outbound mail that's proving
to be problematic!
