Hello,

Problem:
--------
I'm stuck with a sound output problem under NetBSD on my girlfriend's
laptop. It's only playing a single, short sequence at the beginning of
any sound file and keeps looping it for quite some time. It also
continues looping for some time after I killed the corresponding
process. AFAIS, this is independent of the sound file format or the
command used to play it.

System:
-------
Model: HP Omnibook xt1000
OS: NetBSD 2.0 (GENERIC_LAPTOP) (the problem used to appear on 1.6.2,
too)

Some dmesg output (complete dmesg at
<http://www.trash.net/~leuzi/dmesg-rudi.txt>):
-----------------
auvia0 at pci0 dev 17 function 5: VIA VT82C686A AC'97 Audio (rev 0x40)
auvia0: interrupting at irq 9
auvia0: ac97: Avance Logic ALC200/ALC201 codec; headphone, 18 bit DAC,
18 bit ADC, Realtek 3D
auvia0: ac97: ext id 605<AC97_22,AMAP,SPDIF,VRA>
audio0 at auvia0: full duplex, mmap, independent
-----------------

Is this a known problem? If yes, is there a fix? If not, should I
send-pr this?

TIA,
Christoph
