About a week ago, I purchased 3 refurished IBM DDRS-34560W S97B UW SCSI Har=
ddrives.
SO, I used disklabel -i -I to create the partition table by hand -- then I =
newfs'd it.
I went to install NetBSD from the NetBSD-1.6.0 CD and when it got to newfs =
step, it
messed up and said partion is "read-only".
SO I newfs'd it by hand -- /dev/rsd0a is read-only, /dev/rsd0e was succesful
I assumed the thing was whacked, so I used the CD to install dirrectly to
another DDRS-34560W drive. SO I got all the sets installed and rebooted the
disk. Now it comes up in single-user mode!
I do sed -e "s/rc\_configured\=3DNO.../g" rc.conf > rc.tmp
I THEN GET partition is "read-only"
OK, thats 2 disks -- whats up?
I googled netbsd.org and apparently there are many posts about this disk.
What jumpers are being set? What tricks are being used?
When my system boots it sees it as:
Mar 17 11:26:54 gandalf /netbsd: sd1 at scsibus0 target 2 lun 0: <IBM-PCCO,=

Any help would be apreciated
