Hi,
I'm trying to install NetBSD 1.6.1 from a CD-ROM on a new pc, it's an asus
terminator p4 533.
The installation process will stop showing me this message:

pciide0:0:0: lost interrupt
           type: ata tc_bcount: 512 tc_skip: 0
pciide0:0:0: bus-master DMA error: missing interrupt, status=0x61

I checked the BIOS and it's not possible to disable U/DMA.

Under FreeBSD I was able to disable DMA using before device "probing",
set hw.ata.ata_dma="0"

I'm a beginner,
could you please help me ?

I _don't_ want, if possible, to compile a new kernel because I don't have
the resources to do that,
sorry if these are banal questions... ;-)

Thank you,
:-) Andrea
