OK, the problem was/is because the CHECKSUM was/is wrong.  I couldn't give
details earlier because is just was no longer viewable (on screen anyway),
but I found out that kdebase-3.4.2 seems to have downloaded ok (it's
compiling at the moment), but the checksum in the Makefile does not jive
with the distfile.  I got the message that one or the other is not up
todate.  I suppose somebody needs to update the Makefile in pkgsrc.(?)
