Maybe it would be useful to have some tool that tries a variety of 
different vm tunables and then does benchmarking of each one to attempt to 
figure out what settings are best.

Anyone have something like that or interested in coding it?

What type of automated tests could be quickly used to test different vm 
sysctls?

(My manual but slow test is minimizing and maximizing firefox.)
