Yes, definitely. That's the main issue for me. Actually I like the idea of
having Desktop NetBSD :)

Agree. I mean it'd be nice if the desktop is simple enough to be used on
other archs too (Alpha, MIPS, you name it). If the idea is to have a desktop
for people who need the job done, then probably they won't be from the x86
camp only.
Aside from that, I wouldn't choose Gnome for a very simple reason - it
depends on a damn lot of other packages. This deserves a separate thread, I
think.
