Hi and thanks for your response,
I downloaded Jibbed-5 livecd to test this. My console on the X31 is
flooded with identical messages saying
"ath0: could not restore diversity setting 0"
indeed "sysctl -a |grep diversity" does not show anything on my laptop,
while on my workstation this shows something like "hw.ath0.diversity = 0".
using wpa_supplicant i still get the "authentication timed out" message.
any other ideas?
