AW: Help from Ubuntu

Mastering or remastering of a Linux system is not a new concept to the most
here i assume and could be done i.e. with a short shellscript or following a
short HOWTO and - if required - incl. compression i.e. with i.e. squashfs to
shrink onto a smaller CD im many cases.

I'm not shure how do you want to "avoid" any dual- or multi boot with this, as
you have a DVD/CD (image) which must be "booted" to run (or did you mean "avoid
repartitioning / boot loader config"? Configuring a boot loader for dual boot
from disk is no "magic" to most typical *BSD users and well documented). So
this sounds not like a solution - it sounds like a (bad) workaround...

There are several ways to run linux-binaries in or beside a *BSD without
leaving your running *BSD - i.e. linux emu or different virtualization concepts
/ constellations.

So i'm not shure where do you see any improvement here?

Btw:
Using "Skype" in such a constellation may be useless for many as you are not
reachable as lonng you are in your BSD. If a proprietary solution like Skype is
not delivered in sources nor in a BSD version more BSD-users may look for open
and standard alternatives like Jabber IM, x2go oder SIP VoIP. As i highly
prefer any open standard i'm not afraid about this...

Cheers,

Niels.
