My laptop is
eMachines E625 Series
Display 15.6" HD 1366 x 768
Graphics ATI Radeon(TM) Xpress 1200 Graphics
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 bits (single processor)
I use NetBSD amd64 5.1 GENERIC. I have a few problems:
I have not yet found out how to run audio. And I use a USB
dongle (rum) to connect to the internet.
From the dmesg I quote:
... <snip> ...
ppb1 at pci0 dev 6 function 0: vendor 0x1002 product 0x7916\
(rev. 0x00)
pci2 at ppb1 bus 2
pci2: i/o space, memory space enabled, rd/line, wr/inv ok
vendor 0x14e4 product 0x4315 (miscellaneous network, revision 0x01)\
at pci2 dev 0 function 0 not configured
[Hardware spec says: Broadcom 802-11g Network Adapter]
ppb2 at pci0 dev 7 function 0: vendor 0x1002 product 0x7917\
(rev. 0x00)
pci3 at ppb2 bus 5
pci3: i/o space, memory space enabled, rd/line, wr/inv ok
vendor 0x1969 product 0x1062 (ethernet network, revision 0xc0) at\
pci3 dev 0 function 0 not configured
[Hardware spec says: Atheros AR8132 PCI-E Fast Ehernet]
...<snip> ...
azalia0: codec[0]: 0x10ec/0x0272 (rev. 0.1), HDA rev. 1.0
audio0 at azalia0: full duplex, playback, capture, independent
[Hardware spec says: Realtek ????]
...<snip> ...
pad0: outputs: 44100Hz, 16-bit, stereo
audio1 at pad0: half duplex, playback, capture
...<snip> ...
The laptop is very cheap, and neither too large nor too small for me.
Perhaps my information is useful for others.
Greetings
Hans
